Giving Birth (to a cool new company, that is).

I recently had the opportunity to work with Ron Askew of Ron Gets It (210-392-1653). Our mission together was to 1) establish a name for his company, 2) map out and prioritize the necessary promotional tools we would develop for his new business, and 3) create a graphic identity around which his communication materials would be built.

Ron Gets It. Cool name! What do you do?
We offer a personal car buying service. We save people time, money, and anxiety. It’s a new type of car-buying and car-selling experience.
Once you experience it, you’ll never go back to the way you’ve purchased cars or sold your cars in the past.

How long have you had the “itch.” You know, to start your own business?
Seriously? About 2 years. I’ve worked for others in the car business for many, many years. I wanted independence and flexibility.

What did we accomplish together?
Corporate Identity- a real company, but with a warm, personal touch.

How could you substantiate spending money on promotional material, given that you are in the early stages of building your business?
I’ve run businesses for others so I’m familiar with advertising and branding issues; I realize the importance of first impressions, especially if one is not face-to-face with the customer.

Any reservations so far?
There are always reservations. You make an informed decision, and you take your shot.

Tell me how faith has played a role in taking this risk.
Faith allowed me to take that shot despite reservations. Left to my own devices, I would let fear stop me. With God, the fear is there, but I know God is Greater.

Are you going to succeed?
I already am succeeding.

You seem to really like what you do. Why?
Because it’s a real service to others. I know myself, my talents and skills. They are gifts from God. If I don’t use them for service to other people, that is a misuse, or abuse of my gifts.
